This a special training for the members that will be Maintaining the UHP Quick Attack Truck

2:00 pm TRAINING – UHP Maintenance Training: Procedures to change oil & elementS/ Cleaning air, water & foam elements/ Auto throttle adjustments/ Carburetor adjustments- High & low RPM settings, throttle recovery/ Winterization.

K3 the engineers and manufacturers of Ultra High Pressure units will be coming to train our department on the use and tactics of UHP units.

Tactical Training: What to expect from UHP unit/ How to attack fire. Do’s and don’ts of UHP, comfort levels, Handling the nozzle before, during, and after the fire. Flush, for, and straight stream uses. Forestry nozzle use and limitations, Explanation of how UHP disrupts the fire triangle. Piercing do’s and don’ts. Piercing limitations. Live burn training (dept. supplied burning material. Cars, Houses, Burn trailers) and more.

Class room Fire Behavior , TIC

Live Burn Training and Thermal Imaging Cameras (TIC):

Training session will start with classroom lecture reviewing fire behavior and thermal imaging. Upon completion of lecture multiple LIVE FIRE burns will be completed.

8 hrs  solid 6 hours
